Bele Chere 2007 in Asheville, NC

In less than two weeks, the streets of downtown Asheville will once again be flooded with thousands of locals and tourists for the annual street festival, Bele Chere.  Personally, I’ll be doing my best to avoid the mayhem, but for those that choose to partake in the festivities this means music, crafts, sunburns, funnel cakes, and face painting galor!

Musical acts in the past have varied from De La Soul (canceled) to Foghat….yes, Foghat! This year’s line up inlcudes names like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Rusted Root, and the Karl Denson Trio. Where these shows always used to be free to the public, Asheville Parks & Rec have felt the need to charge for such headliners in recent years.
